This summer, join Kate Shema from Createria Studios as she leads a whole summer's worth of awesome art adventures during the Coppell Arts Center Children's Summer Art Camps! Every week explores a new theme: Animal Kingdom, Famous Artists, Tropcial Paradise, Magical Creatures, and Wildcard Art Camp. Get creative with cool materials - paint, clay, felt, and more. Journey through the world of renowned artists and discover your own creative voice! This week, we'll delve into the styles and techniques of iconic figures, transforming inspiration into your own unique masterpieces. Join us for a week of artistic exploration and discovery!
Monday, June 9 - Basquiat's Bold Collage Canvas
- Dive into the raw energy of Jean-Michel Basquiat! Students will create dynamic collaged paintings, layering textures and colors to capture the spirit of his powerful and expressive style.
Tuesday, June 10 - Rodriguez's Blue Dog in Oil Pastel
- Capture the soulful gaze of George Rodriguez's "Blue Dog" using the rich, blendable textures of oil pastels. Students will learn to layer colors and create depth, bringing this iconic image to life with their own unique touch.
Wednesday, June 11 - Modern Art Mask Masterpiece
- Design and construct an abstract mask inspired by the bold forms and vibrant colors of modern art! Students will explore shape, color, and texture, creating a unique and expressive mask that reflects their own artistic vision.
Thursday, June 12 - O'Keeffe's Sculpted Steer Skull Serenity
- Sculpt clay steer skulls, channeling the minimalist elegance of Georgia O'Keeffe. Students will learn to shape and refine clay, capturing the stark beauty and delicate details of these iconic subjects.
Friday, June 13 - Giacometti's Ethereal Foil Figures
- Create elongated, ethereal figures reminiscent of Alberto Giacometti's sculptures using foil, tape, and paint. Students will explore the interplay of form and space, constructing slender, captivating figures that seem to stretch towards the sky.
Participants are asked to bring a water bottle and a healthy snack (optional), comfortable clothes that can get messy, and a big imagination! Classes are limited in size, so sign your child up soon and let the fun begin!
Please purchase 1 ticket per child. Class tickets can be purchased individually by the day OR a full week can be purchased as a package.
All class materials are included with the ticket purchase. Parents are welcome to drop off their child or stay during the class in the Arts Center in the Vari Studio Workspace.
No experience is necessary. Classes are available to children ages 6 to 12.
* NOTE: A parent or guardian must be present to sign their child in and out for each class.
